Last week, I had the rare pleasure of tasting one unforgettable Grower Champagne not once, not twice, but three times over the course of a single week and I can honestly say, it got better with every glass.

My bottle of Champagne Cuillier ‘Cuvée Rouge’ Grande Réserve with a flute, highlighting its fine bubbles and light, golden hue.

The Champagne Cuillier ‘Cuvée Rouge’ Grande Réserve Extra-Brut, newly imported by LuxVinea is an elegant, approachable, and beautifully balanced non-vintage Champagne that completely charmed me from the first sip.

Made from an even blend of 34% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir and 33% Meunier, this wine spends a generous 48 months on lees in the caves beneath the village of Brugny, where all the magic unfolds. The result is a Champagne that opens with fine, persistent bubbles, shimmering pale yellow in the glass with silver reflections.

My first impressions? Fresh, generous and vibrant. Aromas of hazelnut, toasted brioche and exotic fruits lifted from the glass. The mousse was elegant and full, and as I sipped, I found the flavour evolved with subtle complexity, buoyed by a well-balanced acidity and finishing long with delicate fruit and spice notes.

But what truly amazed me was how gracefully it held up over time, days after opening, the bubbles remained lively and the flavours had deepened.
By the end of the week, the final glass still carried that same vibrant sparkle and, if anything, the flavours had become more grounded and expressive. Think lemon pith, shortbread biscuit, and a whisper of star anise on a long, savoury finish.

This cuvée is Certified Organic, a significant achievement that reflects Champagne Cuillier’s deep commitment to quality and sustainable viticulture. With 92 points from Wine Spectator, and high praise from Guide Hachette, Gault & Millau and Bettane & Desseauve, this is a standout wine that brings both finesse and power to the glass.

Perfectly suited to risotto with truffle and parmesan, veal carpaccio, scallops à la plancha or raw fish marinated in citrus, it also shines in any setting including, weddings, corporate events, or intimate celebrations, thanks to its refined structure and wide appeal.
